Lactalis American Group Inc. has switched to partially renewable packaging for its Precious Sticksters snack cheese brand. The new laminated material, which is 50 percent plant-based, generates up to 35.2 percent fewer greenhouse gases and uses up to 36.8 percent less energy than the conventional petroleum-based materials it replaces. Boxiecat subscription cat litter delivery service uses Cradle to Cradle-certified shipping boxes and the postal service to save packaging waste and carbon footprint. Silgan Plastics has installed the first Avery Dennison Curve Appeal labeling system in North America at its Ligonier, IN, manufacturing plant. This labeling system combines Fasson Curvy pressure-sensitive label material with a new patent-pending Avery Dennison application process that will enable Silgan to apply p-s labels to complex curved package shapes, creating a more eye-catching billboard on each bottle.
